An oak table makes a sturdy and beautiful accent in any room of the home. When glasses are set directly on an oak table or water spills on one and isn't wiped up right away, however, the result can be an unsightly white water stain. These stains do not have to be permanent--household supplies remove white water stains from oak and restore wood to its pre-stained condition. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
- 1
Squirt a dime-sized amount of non-gel toothpaste onto a clean cotton cloth. Rub the toothpaste into the white water stain on your oak table. Add more toothpaste if needed for a larger stain.
2Allow the toothpaste to sit on the white water stain for a few minutes.
3Dampen a clean cloth with cool water and wring out the excess. Wipe the toothpaste off the oak table with the damp cloth.
4Lay a damp clean cloth over the water stain if it is still visible. Pass a clothing iron set to the medium heat setting over the cloth. Continue to rub back and forth over the damp cloth on your oak table to lift the remaining white water stain.
5Pour a quarter-sized amount of furniture oil onto a clean cloth. Rub the furniture oil into the surface of your oak table to restore its original moisture.
