Black Table Linens & Ideas for a Centerpiece

Black Table Linens & Ideas for a Centerpiece

Black linens provide a touch of class to a formal event. This color linen is a base for many styles of centerpiece and can work with many themed occasions. Black linens work for a formal wedding party, a semiformal corporate dance and even for a restaurant special event. These linens also work with contemporary, classic, whimsical and Asian-inspired special events.

Modern Centerpiece

A black tablecloth aired with cream napkins and a table runner is a contemporary look. Add a modern centerpiece consisting of calla lilies in an O-shaped glass bowl; the O-shaped glass bowl will fit the stems of the lilies perfectly. Stainless steel silverware and silver napkin rings round out your highly modern and most contemporary place setting.

Traditional Centerpiece

Black table linens are also ideal for a traditional table setup with a classic centerpiece such as a simple vase of red roses. Keep the entire linen setup (napkins and tablecloth) in black with the exception of a red table runner. On tables requiring a little bit more color, add red napkins in lieu of black. Place two dozen red roses, cut to the same height, in a glass, square-shaped vase.

Whimsical Centerpiece

A display of colorful tulips, in whimsical pink, blue, orange and yellow hues, adds a delightful centerpiece to a table with primarily black linens. Incorporating a black table runner with polka dots in the colors of the tulips for an additional sense of whimsy adds to your overall theme.

Asian-Inspired Centerpiece

Add a piece of satin, complete with Chinese markings, to the table as a table runner. A bright red or blue contrasts beautifully with a black tablecloth. Add satin napkins, or stick with the available black napkins. A tall ceramic jar complete with one Asiatic lily makes an elegant centerpiece.
