How to Get Up a White Glass Ring From a Table

Getting up a white glass ring from a table is a straightforward process that doesn't require a lot of time or equipment. White rings are usually caused by setting hot things down on the table or leaving a wet glass or cup too long. Prevent stains by using coasters or table pads and clean up spills when they happen. If you discover a ring on a table, this method will remove it, even if it's an old stain. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    1

Clean the surface of the table as you normally would. Make sure there is no dirt or dust near the ring you're going to remove.

    2

Tear off a piece of waxed paper that's big enough to cover the entire ring. Lay the waxed paper over the ring and smooth it out so there are no creases.

    3

Put a clean washcloth or towel over the waxed paper and smooth it out. Make sure the waxed paper doesn't move off the ring.

    4

Use a warm iron to press the towel or washcloth. Slide it back and forth across the fabric. Don't let it sit in one spot for more than 30 seconds.

    5

Remove the towel and pull back the waxed paper. If the stain is gone, remove the waxed paper, let the tabletop cool and apply furniture polish or wax to the entire surface.

    6

Continue to apply heat if the stain is not gone.
